Granite is an age–old material up to five billion years old. Granite consists completely of crystalline assemblage of Quartz, Felspar and Mica, with accessory minerals Apatite, Sphene and zircon. Granite’s durability, aesthetic appeal and economic performance lends itself well to the use of kitchen work surface material.
Granite will withstand extreme temperatures hot and cold, as well as being resistant to most liquids associated with kitchen use and food preparation. However, light coloured granite can be stained by strongly coloured substances such as red wine and blackcurrant juice. In order to minimise the effect of daily use, all granite work surfaces are treated during manufacturing with sealant, while general maintenance is simple; a basic non–abrasive surface cleaner will suffice. After care kits are available from our kitchen showroom in Guiseley, Leeds.
CaesarStone is a man–made surface using one of nature’s hardest materials. The outstanding beauty, strength and durability of quartz ensure a product far superior to natural stone and other manufactured surfaces. CaesarStone is made of approximately 94% quartz aggregates and a small amount of pigments and polyester resins which form the balance of the material.
CaesarStone is harder than granite, yet four times more flexible and resists chipping and cracking. These facts make CaesarStone lighter and easier to transport, fabricate, install and maintain.
